Summer Kick-Off a Success!

What a great turnout at the FRC Summer Kick-Off yesterday.  I hope you enjoyed the day and took a little something away from the morning.

A quick thank you to these people that helped to make yesterday possible...

Frisco CrossFit is nice enough to allow us to invade their space on a regular basis.  Cory and Kahle are passionate about health and fitness and see the benefit of a well rounded individual in the gym and on the road.

Patton Gleason, Natural Running Store, is a great resource for any questions you might have about running form and mechanics.

The FRC coaches...Steve, Laurie, Evan, Jamie, Jeff, and Larry.  Nothing could be accomplished without their help, knowledge, and  energy.

All the supporters who contributed services or donations...Dr. Jeremy Liesveld for helping stretch and consult our runners on issues they are having.  Blue Goose, $25 gift card.  Burger Girl, $30 gift card.  Frisco Cinemark, 4 free movie passes.  Double Dip, free ice cream.

Here are the highlights of Patton's workshop and the kick-off.
Sorry for the music...it was free.

Teacher Appreciation is this week!  I will be honoring all teachers by running. OK, what's new about that?  I have decided to run a marathon every day this week...26.2 miles Monday-Friday.  I will need to break up the runs so I will begin 30 minutes before the morning session begins and 60 minutes before the night session.  I will be shooting for 13-15 miles in the morning and finishing up the rest in the afternoon.  Why am I doing this?  We need to make sure our teachers are recognized for all the hard work they do to educate our children.  Teachers are our foundation and the children are our future.  Anyone is welcome to run with me and I highly encourage it because I will need the company.  Here is to 131 miles!  Check the FRC Facebook page for updates during the week.  I hope you will be able to join me this week for a short or long run.  Make it a point to get out with your child and run a mile to honor their teacher and the teachers of FISD.
