5/21 Saturday Group Run is at Warren Park pavillion 630AM.
We are at week 3 of the summer training and great things are happening. Many runners have been racing the last 3 weeks and we as a club have brought home some hardware. It would be up on the results page but the gods of the internet erased all the results...user error?? It will be reposted soon. This Wednesday is our Prediction 5K run at Rogers Elementary. The great thing about this run is that you do not need to be the fastest, just the closest to your predicted time. Thursday morning workouts will be moved to CrossFit. I have heard some runners talk about being sore and hungry. Answer, hang in there...stretch, rest, and eat good quality water dense foods and lean protein. Soda, fried food and junk food will slow down the body's ability to heal itself and will slow you down on the road or track. Read the Nutrition page on RethinkRunning.com for more information on eating right.
This is a video of the exercises for the Thursday workout...

This weekend is the Frisco Relay for Life at Lone Star High School benefiting the American Cancer Society. The relay will run from 6pm Friday night until 6am Saturday morning. You can come out anytime you wish to run, walk or just sit around and enjoy some good conversation. You do not have to donate to the cause but if you want, go to the FRC Relay for Life page . Go to the site to sign-up for the relay. Now the challenge...since it is a 12 hour relay, I will be running 200 laps, 50 miles. 2 weeks ago it was a marathon a day for teacher appreciation week...this night is for my friends and family that have gone through the scare of cancer or have lost a loved one to the disease. After the run I hope to run a 5K with my father in Prosper. 6 years ago he was diagnosed with prostate cancer but after surgery has been cancer free since. I hope you are all able to participate in this great relay event Friday night.

Luke's Locker was also a success with our first FRC 15% off day. I hope you were able to make it to Luke's for some great deals. Please make sure you visit our Friends of the FRC when you can.
Distance is relative. -Ham
