The Summer Program is a GO! 

Kick-Off @ Frisco CrossFit April 30th, 8AM


Schedule of Events:
730-800AM Registration
800-845AM Running and Form Analysis Clinic by Patton Gleason, Owner, Natural Running Store
850-925AM Group Run
930-945AM Introduction to interval training and track
945-10AM Question and Answer session about the FRC and its 5k and 15K summer programs.
10AM Free Frisco CrossFit Workout

 Door prizes and giveaways by local businesses will be provided.
** Come to a workout from April 11th - April 28th for a group run on Monday, a track Tuesday, or circuit training Thursday. Talk with the coaches and group members before you join thr FRC. Email so we know you're coming.

Burger?

 So the weekend started out with the Post Marathon Party at Jason P.'s house.  Great turnout and the kids enjoyed playing basketball and horseshoes but they enjoyed playing in the woods the most.  Thanks again J and Susan for allowing us to invade your home.  Next post party is after the summer program July 16th.

  The Syllamo Challenge was fantastic.  Where else can you run 16 trail miles, perform 80 burpees, 120 push-ups, 160 squats and then have homemade breakfast burritos and pressed coffee?  15 runners showed for the event and there was also an FRC member doing her long run for marathon training!  And she had never ran trail before...  We will definitely do this again.  Enjoy training this week and remember the P5K is this Wednesday 7PM at Rogers Elementary.  Jamie R. will be defending her March win.

New program starts May 2nd.  Register on the right before I figure out how to change the prices.  Remember to register for the Frisco Relay for Life May 20-21.  Information below.

We have a team for the Frisco Relay for Life
When : Friday, May 20, 2011 6 P.M. - Saturday, 6 A.M.
Location : Lone Star High School, Frisco
We will have a tent, refreshments, and pink FRC shirts to wear for the run. You can stay for an hour or for the whole 12. Join the team or donate to a great cause so we can RUN OVER cancer.  Joining the team does not mean you must donate.

5K and 15K Program begins May 2nd.
Are you thinking of running a 5K but don't know where to start? Have you tried but dropped out because you could not keep the energy up week after week on your own? Join our beginner 5K program for runners looking to accomplish their first 5K. All paces are welcome but training will focus on 11-16 min/mile athletes. 5K will focus on endurance for 4 weeks, general strength for 4 weeks and a 2 week taper.  Meeting days are Monday and Saturday.  Additional training days on Tuesday and Thursday are available.

15K program is for runners that have accomplished a 5K under 40 minutes or 10K under 85 minutes and want to get faster or want to keep their strong base built up during the winter. 15K will focus on endurance, running strength and speed. This program can also be used as early marathon training for October and November races. Meeting days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings for group runs.  If you have questions, just ask.  See Training Programs page for more information.

Looking for some trail running?
It's that time of the year again that we make our way to Erwin Park and other trails around DFW.  Trail running is a great time to work on balance, core, foot strength and lateral mobility.  Check out Rethink Running for info and additional websites.  If you have questions or want to join us on a Sunday morning email... rethinkrunning@gmail.com

Need some new exercises?
Check out Rethink Running for video workouts.  Another great resource for workouts is Frisco CrossFit and CrossFit Endurance.  I highly recommend that you workout with the guys at Frisco CrossFit before performing any of the exercises you are not familiar with.  For the girls you can check out AthenaFit for workouts...trust me...these suck too!  If you want a good laugh watch  CrossFit vs. Zumba .
